A. Complete
B. I chose to attend to first graders. I chose to do a slide show that
contained vibrant colors, words, and descriptions. My lesson plan
relates to the requirements of the Essential Standards which through
teaching a language also results in many of the Common Core
requirements being met as well. I chose to use a short video with a
catchy song that first graders would definitely find easy to learn, but
also they are seeing the words flash across the screen therefore
recognizing the spelling of the words as well. Through using numbers
in Spanish as well to tell what number the month was we are able to
incorporate how numbers through language can expand their learning
as well. I was thinking of a video as well that has the numbers being
flashed with eyeballs and moving around, but the video only went to
ten and in months of the year there are twelve. Through using the
slides we would be using the written form to learn pronunciations of
numbers which can be used in everyday conversations, through the
video they would be receiving a fun message of how to remember the
months as stated in the Essential Standards it says, These messages
could be about any topic and come from a wide variety of sources and
media: textbooks, newspapers, signs, websites, news broadcasts,
television, radio programs, etc. To practice their writing a recognition
skills I chose to give demonstrations using the spelling of the months
portrayed on the screen as well as the numbers. I did not compare
cultures, but if I was doing this project I would break the months of the
year down and talk about each culture celebrates the holidays within
that particular month. I think my presentation greatly demonstrates
how many subjects could be covered and at the end I chose to present
a work of computer art, but I would probably ask them to draw by hand
instead using their favorite month and tell why it is their favorite
month so that it could be displayed for other to see therefore tapping
into their creative side and definitely covering the art factor. Each
factor of listening, speaking, writing, and reading are adequately
utilized.

C. I chose to use Days of the Month in Spanish. For first graders it has
such a catchy tune and could be easily learned in a fun and
educational way.
D. I chose a song.

their favorite month and writing a sentence or two telling why and
putting the name and number of the month at the top of their portrait.
