A review on the dynamic testing of the bridges

Abstract. The paper intends to be a review on the experimental testing program of the bridges acted
by dynamic loads. There are presented the requirements of the Romanian standard governing the
experimental testing on bridges, with reference to the dynamic tests.
Different experimental methods can be used to determine the dynamical characteristics of a
structure. According to Romanian standard, bridges experimental testing is conducted, usually, using
test vehicles. Besides this method, worldwide, different devices are used for the dynamic testing of
the bridges. In the paper, the authors make a general presentation of the methods applied for bridges,
with the required measurement equipment presentation. Also, a comparison of the methods is
conducted, from the experimental efficiency point of view, related with the involved testing costs.
Using the results from the database of the Laboratory of Strength of Materials from TUCEB,
a general presentation of the dynamic characteristics of the bridges tested in Romania is presented
with respect to the structural type of the bridges.

Rezumat. Autorii i propun s realizeze o descriere general a ncercrilor experimentale n regim

dinamic la poduri. Sunt prezentate cerinele specifice conform standardului romnesc pentru
ncercarea structurilor de poduri cu ncrcri de prob, fcndu-se referire la ncercrile n regim
dinamic ale acestora..
Pentru determinarea caracteristicilor dinamice ale unei structuri pot fi utilizate diverse metode
experimentale. n concordan cu standardul de romnesc de ncercare a podurilor, testele
experimentale se realizeaz, de obicei, cu ajutorul vehiculelor de prob. Pe lng aceast metod, se
pot utiliza i alte echipamente sau dispozitive n vederea obinerii solicitrii dinamice a podurilor. n
aceast lucrare autorii realizeaz o prezentare general a metodelor de ncercare utilizate la poduri,
cu identificarea echipamentelor de msur necesare n fiecare caz. Este realizat o comparare a
metodelor din punct de vedere al eficienei msurtorii experimentale, n raport cu factorii i costurile
aferente ncercrii.
Utiliznd rezultatele din baza de date a Laboratorului de Rezistena Materialelor din cadrul
Universitii Tehnice de Construcii Bucureti, se realizeaz o prezentare general a caracteristicilor
dinamice pentru podurile testate n Romnia, n raport de tipul structural al acestora.
