Engaging Students in Textual Analysis Webinar

Summarize the key points you learned from this Professional Development
experience.
This webinar talks about how to engage the students in the text they are
reading in the classroom and how to get their students to understand their
text better. This webinar has tools to help your students while they are
reading such as charts and graphs for them to fill out and it even has a rubric
for teachers to use when grading their charts and graphs. One of the main
points was that you should aim for higher order thinking out of your students
and push them to do their best. This webinar also had questions for the
students to answer as they are reading ho help them analyze the text.

Discuss how these key points connect to your content area.


As a social studies major, there is a lot of reading in our content and it is
important to make sure that your students understand what they are reading.
Some concepts in social studies are had to grasp and the techniques they
provide will help with those concepts.

Share how you might use this new information in your future classroom.
I can use the sample material that was provided in the webinar to help my
students.
I can use the charts and graphs to help my students when they are
struggling to understand the text they are reading.
