Dear Parents/Guardians of Ms. Eyes class,
For the past two months, I have been assisting Ms. Eye in her classroom as part of a student
teaching assignment for the Introduction to Education course I took this semester at Lord Fairfax
Community College. It has been a truly wonderful experience working with these children, and a
great opportunity for me to learn and grow as a future teacher.
My favorite part about this experience was working individually with the children. They have so
many things to say and love nothing more than having someone to listen to them. I feel
immensely honored that they wanted to tell me their stories, and that I was able to work with
them this semester.
One of the most memorable things I learned was what it means to be a teacher. I learned that it
involves many late nights and much extra work, that it is not an easy job, but that the most
important thing about teaching is the impact it has on the children. Teachers are mentors to their
students. They do not just intend to prepare their students for the next test, teachers prepare them
for life.
This was a singularly memorable experience and I thank you wholeheartedly for giving me the
chance to share it with your child.
Sincerely,

Natalie Garbarino
