Conclusion

What effect does the amount of shooter strings on a lacrosse

stick have on the shot speed? More shooters on the stick creates a
different release angle and causes a faster release so it could possibly
affect the speed of the shot. If the amount of shooters decreases, then
the shot speed should increase. The amount of shooter strings on a
lacrosse stick is being changed and as a result, the shot speed should
change.
As the amount of shooter strings increased, the shot speed also
increased. With zero strings the average was 22.9 mph, with one the
average was 25 mph, with two the average was 26.02 mph, with three
the average was 28.16 mph, and finally with four strings the average
was 29.88 mph. The average was found from 50 trials, so the data is
accurate. There wasnt much change but it was present. Since the
catapult created an equal amount of force generated on every shot,
the results were very consistent and tightly clustered. All the shot
speeds were within 5 mph of the average. Few errors occurred in the
experimentation except for the occasional out liar.
The created Hypothesis wasnt supported by the data collected.
As the shooter strings increased, the shot speed also increased. It was
predicted that the shot speed would decrease as shooter strings
increased. These results were not expected.
This experiment supported the idea that the amount of shooter
strings on a lacrosse stick can affect shot speed. It showed that more
shooting strings could help with increasing shot speed for any player
looking to do so. In the future a study on how the length of the stick
effects shot speed would be very beneficial as well.
