Today I am going to talk about Prosody is the study of the tune and rhythm of speech,
and it could be regarded as part of the grammar of a language. When we look at prosodic
factures we study different aspects of speech and how they contribute to the meaning of
speech.

The first topic is stress; makes the pronunciation understandable to the listener by
making the important words in the sentences stressed clear and higher in pitch, the most
important part is that in a sentence, changes in the stress on words can change the meaning
of sentences, probably the best way to learn where to put word stress is from experience,
Listen carefully to spoken English and try to repeat.

The second topic is pitch is the way or instrument we manipulate to produce a good
intonation, music or whatever you want to say. And it has ; Low Pitch, Neutral Pitch, High
Pitch and Extra High Pitch. Intonation is formed by certain pitch changes,

The third topic is Rhythm is the sense of movement in speech, which is marked by the
stress, timing and quantity of syllables . Remember some syllables are stressed more than
others and some syllables are pronounced longer than others.

The last topic is Intonation is how we say things, what we say like the music of the
speech, Without intonation its impossible to understand the expressions, Intonation can be
described as the movements or variations in pitch to which we fell familiar (High, Low and
Tones)
