The lessons or teaching points contain suggestions for activities oF situations. “To measure he extent which a teaching pont or tachi unit as been assimilated a scheme of cootinnets assessment and evaluation should be used; this would be in keeping with the recommendations of the aaa Board for Angle-Indian Education on assesment and evaluation atthe primary evel ‘The teacher may use mumber charts, flashcards ash cards with games such a Indo and snakes and lders aid collections and the abacus both for teaching and assessment, It is suggested that: i) cach teaching point be assessed by a set of very short answer questions, all compulsory and 10 Pe responded to mentally. ii) a topic or teaching units assessed by an assignment (attest) made up of two parts: Par | const a ay very short answer quewions and Part ~ 2 consisting of compulsory short answer questions ‘equiing 2 oF 3 steps to solve and including atleast one problem - solving question i) nares ofthe sylabus is measured by & comprehensive test slong the same lines a5 unit tet, but BSS 9 aor an question involving two basie operations or geometic skills and one problem so} ing eee mun purpose of a comprebcsive i f0 measure ong term memory and etccaion of concepts. Pupils who obtain a grade of Dor ina unittest or caching point assessment should be re-essesou er remedial teaching has been done. ‘All assessments namely teaching point/sub-topic assessments, unit tests and comprehensives should be taken into account to arrive at the grade for a term or the academic year. a2
