Teia Maid Qureshi, Rae Muhammad ‘SharifandDr Kamran Abidfortheirconriouiontothisactbook. ‘Asthe reader wil notice, certainbasic parameters, which indicate ‘the performance of university have improved steadily and very ‘significantly since January 2008 when the present administration ‘sumed charge. The number of research publications in journal ‘carrying an impactfactor has more than tripled from 162 n 2007 to 605 in 2014, Publications in HEC recognized journals are in “alton to these. Funds for Faculty Development have been enhanced frm Rs 45 milion in 2007-2008 0 R75 milion in 2014-15 Tiss in addon to HEC Funded Faculty Development rogram, Under the PU Faculty Development Program alone over 100 faculty members have been sent abroad for PRD stules and emo Pele ‘manyof them have returmedinthe past woor three years, adding to the pool of PhDs in PU. An endowment of Rs 20 millon forthe ‘welfare of employees has also been setup. The vestment of PU has risen from Re 1.85 bilion in June 2008 to Re 4.9 bilion in Decernber,2014. For the fit time in PU history the fulLtime faculty strength ‘rossed the landmark number of 1000. The PAD to non-PAD ‘teacher ratio has alo increased by almost 15% for regulr faculty ‘members since 2008, Jumping fom 29% for regular faculty ‘mambors t the end of 2007 to 48.18% in 2014, PRD production has suddenly risen from an average of 41 per annum during 1980- 2007 to 144,70 per annum during the period 2008 to 2014. In 2012 the PunjebUniversity produced 206 PhDs, becoming the ist ‘ever univetsityin he history of Pakstanto produce morethen 200 PDs in one year. The percentage of MS/MPhil and PhD students at the university has inereased from 5.66% in 2011 to 9.50% in rou, ‘Students were appropriately funded for the needy & merit ‘scholarships. n 2024, more than 27% regular full-time students ‘were ghven scholarships. We receive fee of Rs. 104 (M) fom “students and disburse scholarships of Rs. 76 (M) amongst these students from University of the Punjab income. The HEC has provided scholarships worthRs, 19.27 (M) and Governmentofthe Punjab has aso provided scholarships worth Rs. 14.15 (M) ‘approximately. Students were appropriately funded for the neody & merit ‘scholarships. In 2014, mare than 33% regular fll time students ‘were given scholarships. We receive fee of Rs. 131.824 (M) fom regular students and disburse scholarships of Re. 76 (M1) amongst ‘these students from University of the Purjab income.
