GEOTECHNICAL DESIGN CRITERIA

1.0

Foundation
Where the soil that make up the proposed sites are found to be relatively strong and
moderately incompressible, it will be expected that the facilities to be founded on shallow
foundation.
Where the alluvial deposits that make up the proposed sites are relatively weak and highly
compressible, it will be expected that the structures/facilities be founded on piles.
As a guide, if the bearing capacity at the foundation formation level is less than 60kN/m 2,
the proposed structures shall be founded on shallow foundation.

2.0

Slope
The slope shall generally be designed with minimum safety factor of 1.5 against sliding
and be formed with following angle :
