This article does not agree with the quality of use of the Internet and social media.

The article claims the Internet and social media has so much potential, teenagers usually
spend hours surfing the web watching junk, when the network can be used for educational
purposes like watching live stream of lectures and conferences from top universities, a
much more effective and useful method of media. The article also claims that there should
be a balance between Internet usage, physical activity, and social interactions. Internet
usage is a main factor young children are not developing real world relations ships and
keeps children from developing emotionally intelligent.

Martha claims that there is a fine between whether social media should be on a
personal or professional level. Local and federal government use social media to announce
news or get a message across and so do politicians during elections. Martha also claims the
Internet is a perfect place for discussions about social issues. Someone who is on Facebook
and has family and friends should be able to voice their opinion about a current event and
not get ridiculed for because it is a form of freedom of speech. I felt this article to be bias

because the author failed to mention counter arguments and how social media can
effectively be used to improve the knowledge of current events and can used for other
reasons than just a outlet for someones thoughts.
3) How Social Media has changed us: The good the bad

This article effectively states all the pros and cons of social media and how things

have changes since the explosion of social media. The pros are better access to
information, connectivity and community, globalized voices but the cons are political
trades, hiding behind anonymity, all talk no action, and amplified ignorance. Tommy
Landry does a good job of exploring both sides of social media with credibility with good
background knowledge of what he is talking about.
