Has anyone ever feel pain because of the differences? Every country in the world,
even in the uncivilized place, people can think of themselves in different ways both positive
and negative sides. By the way, most people think of it in a bad way. Some people are scare
and confuse about their lives, some are afraid of societys judgment. All of the ideas come
from their personal experiences, and it will affect them to be suffering. Suffering is harmful
for people in society, it happens in many ways in Brave New World.
Confusion about oneself is a part of suffering that happen in Brave New World,
Bernard confuses about his life. He wants to be lonely all the time, and his girlfriend thinks
that Bernard is strange. He doesnt know how to attach the girls for example, "I thought we'd
be more together herewith nothing but the sea and moon. More together than in that crowd,
or even in my rooms said Bernard to his girlfriend. (Huxley, 1932, p. 79) His action makes
him feel suffering according to Huxley, (1932) writer Bernard left the room with a swagger,
exulting, as he banged the door behind him, in the thought that he stood alone, embattled
against the order of things. (p. 85) Lenina also has a confusion about herself as well because
she doesnt understand why John refuses to meet her during his party. She feels suffering
about her action that believe in Everyone belongs to everyone else. (Huxley, 1932, p. 37)
Perhaps its because he doesnt like me said Lenina. (Huxley, 1932, p. 152) She confuses
about whats wrong with herself because everyone in society interests in her except John.
However, it is not both Bernards and Leninas mistakes, it is just only they both have their
own thinking and personality that differ from people who they meet. Confusion makes people
to be suffer even though they try their best to solve for it.

Peoples judgment can easily affect the suffering. In Brave New World, people in
society always judge to each other. For example, Fanny Crowne told Lenina about Everyone
belongs to everyone else. (Huxley, 1932, p. 37) when she knows that Lenina never cheated
on her boyfriend. Fanny suggested Lenina to have another man to date with instead of one
man. Ending is better than mending. The more stitches, the less riches. (Huxley, 1932, p.
49) Fanny says that when the relationship about Lenina and her boyfriend are not getting
along well. After that, Fanny is also judge Bernard in a bad way for example, she said He
spends most of his time by himselfalone.. (Huxley, 1932, p. 38) Lenina suffers about her
friends judging because she cares too much about other peoples opinion. Society can also
affect someones emotion to be suffering. Linda cannot go back to her house because she is
pregnant with the director for example. She thinks that everyone in society will look down on
her for sure. Therefore, she must suffer all of her life from her mistake. The consideration of
people effects an emotion easily because they wanted to adapt themselves and be accepted by
society.
Different action from other people will cause suffering in Brave New World, John
suffers about his action that unlike other people in society. He believed in his religion and be
respected to his mother. He doesnt understand what people are doing in society. Oh, Linda,
forgive me. Forgive me, God. I'm bad. I'm wicked. I'm No, no, you strumpet, you
strumpet! John said to his mother. (Huxley, 1932, p. 223) He also suffers for having sex
because he thinks it is unacceptable. He should be marry before having sex. When people do
things against his mind, he cannot control his emotion according to Huxley (1932) writer
John throw the soma into the area while, with the other, he punched the indistinguishable
faces of his assailants. (p. 187) Linda does something that illegal for many savages when she
lived in the village. She has sex with the man who have been married. It is unacceptable for
many people in society. If you knew how glad after all these years! A civilized face. Yes, and

civilized clothes. Because I thought I should never see a piece of real acetate silk again.
(Huxley, 1932, p. 80) Linda said to Lenina who visited her in the village. Therefore, she has
to suffer almost of her life from doing that.
An emotion of people change themselves to be awareness all the time either happiness
or sadness. No one can bring a painful to others unless they think too much about it.
Everyone will be suffering if they continue to focus on bad things that happen to them. In the
real world, people do not have a balance emotion because everything always change. It is
also called Life.
