Learning
Objective:

Students will learn about the Colonist and Native American Peace Treaty of 1621
Students will learn how to translate into modern language an archaic document
Students will learn how to translate text into their own words.

How will you get students interested in the lesson?

Anticipatory
Set:

Students will work in groups and translate an assigned portion of the Peace Treaty
document and record their translations onto a graphic organizer. Students will then record
their collaborative translation onto a poster paper complete with illustrations that they will
present to the class.

from the Peace Treaty group

booklets and add any additional
unfamiliar words as they work on
the Peace Treaty assignment.
