FEW: Apply their knowledge of matter to classify things around them as solids, liquids and gases.

ENGAGE: Opening Activity Access Prior Learning / Stimulate Interest / Generate Questions:
Matter around us:
The teacher will get something from the classroom and she will asking the students What are this thing
made of?
So for example, she get the water bottle and asking the students What the water bottle made of?
EXPLORE: Lesson Description Materials Needed / Probing or Clarifying Questions:

The teacher will showing the students the video about the matter and teacher will asking the students
What are the three state of matter?
EXPLAIN: Concepts Explained and Vocabulary Defined:
Explain for the students the three state of the matter and give them the example for each one.
Then will show the students the video about the three state with the example.

Activity: in the website we have the classification the object into gases, liquid and solids.

Vocabulary:
Solids: is a matter that doesnt change shape easily.

Liquids: is a matter that is wet and can change shape.


Gases: is a matter that easily changes the shape and often has no color or smell.

ELABORATE: Applications and Extensions:

The teacher will spend this time to doing the experiment with the students which is about making carbon
dioxide.

For this experiment we need:

Vinegar

Bicarbonate of soda

A glass bottle

A surgical or rubber glove

An elastic band

The teacher will following the procedure of the experiment which are :
1. Put some bicarbonate of soda in a rubber glove.
2. Fill the glass bottle halfway with vinegar.
3. Attach the bottle carefully to the bottle using the elastic band.
4. Dont mix the bicarbonate of soda and the vinegar whilst attaching the glove.
5. After attaching shake the bicarbonate of soda into the vinegar.

The teacher will asking the students what will happen.


The students will answer to the teacher.
After the observing the teacher will asking the students What the state of matter that you observing in this
experiment

In the group the students will writing one sentence for what they are learning about the lesson.
