3 12 WEBSITES
3.1 www.kapaza.be (C2C)
CONTENT

Kapaza provides consumers to interact with other consumers. A consumer


offers a product or Service and the consumer can interact on it.
The details are pretty visible for consumers. Sometimes the information is a
bit incomplete because the consumer (uploader) hasnt put all information
online.
The site doesnt interact on most cases of incomplete data.
The data available isnt unique, its the same as on Ebay, Craigslist, 2ehands,
The prices are made by the consumer who sells the product, also there can be
an auction for the products.
The site allows to give the option to give a rating, for example if the one who
uploads the offer is credible.

3.1.1 FUNCTIONALITY

The site is quite easy to navigate; everything is nicely divided under sections.
The costumer can easily put his details of the product on the site.
The transaction between the costumer and the one who offers the product
happens through personal email
It doesnt really give a suggestion

3.1.2 AUTHORITY

The site does give information of the company in charge of the development
and maintenance of the site (in this case Schibsted Classified Media)
They also give credibility of the website

3.1.3 ATTRACTIVENESS

The site is a bit simplistic, its not really appealing to the eye
It doesnt have any software downloads or online games
The simplistic design is not attractive but on the other hand, everything youre
searching for is nicely categorized. -> I would say its fun to use

3.2 www.jackjones.com (B2C)


3.2.1 CONTENT

The site offers complete information about the products they offer, the price
they ask and the shipping costs.
The website isnt original as many clothes brands have their own online shop.
It is original in offering their brand clothes though
Theres also more than enough information on the payment, procedures and
return policies.
No feedback on the products

3.2.2 FUNCTIONALITY

The site is extremely easy to navigate through, all menus are nicely
categorized
The interactivity of the site is simply a sign up for this newsletter pop up.
Customers wont find any difficulties searching for their relevant information
and order details.
No online transaction, except for a contact us
Shopping cart is available
If you frequently visit this website, the site does give suggestions
Also hyperlinks to other shopping sites (Only&Sons, J.Lindeberg,)

3.2.3 AUTHORITY

No relevant information for who is responsible for the development and


maintenance of the website.
The assurance is given by the link Find Stores so it is linked to the stores

3.2.4 ATTRACTIVENESS

The website is attractive, it used graphics, connecting to Facebook,


It is certainly visually appealing, handy, easy and fun to use
Positive online experience

3.3.1 CONTENT

Complete information about the service they are offering


Easily understandable , 4 languages on the site
Content is unique since its a Belgian government site
Lots of information about the services.
No feedback allowed

3.3.2 FUNCTIONALITY

Easy to navigate, on the starting page there are several categories


No interactivity
Easy to find information on the search part of the website
No online transaction between company and costumers

3.3.3 AUTHORITY

No information on the development or maintenance of the website.


Assurance is given. You also need to fill in your ID data for more efficient use
of the website

3.3.4 ATTRACTIVENESS

The website is a bit boring of design. Lots of information straight on the first
page, lots of text,
Software download available (ID-Reader)
The website isnt really appealing and fun to use but interesting regardless
Not a great online experience.

3.4.1 CONTENT

The website provides a lot of information about what the school has to offer,
maybe a little bit too much
There are a lot of details on the website

3.4.2 FUNCTIONALITY

The site provides a help function


Since every school is different, their site will also be unique and different from
the sites of its competitors
The site encourages the student of the school to be interactive by use of
dinar/Chamilo
They offer a lot of suggestions about what you can study

3.4.3 AUTHORITY

If you click on disclaimer on the bottom of the page, you can get in contact
with the web designer
The website is a legal one: =symbol of copyright
Assurance is given about the privacy of your data, you can click on privacy at
the bottom of the page

3.4.4 ATTRACTIVENESS

To me the website doesnt look very attractive, there is to much information


on it, but this is subjective.

3.5.1 CONTENT

There is an introduction movie that explains the whole concept of EBay


The menu titles on top of the site are very clear and make it easy to navigate
directly to what you need.
The site provides complete information on payment options, procedures and
policies.
There is plenty of information about the shipping conditions.
The site has a function where you can ask questions concerning the different
products.
The site has a help function where you can ask any question you have
The site provides a function to share a product on social media
The site does not allow users to give feedback
The site itself provides feedback about the seller
The site is only available in English

3.5.2 FUNCTIONALITY

The menu titles on top of the site are very clear and make it easy to navigate
directly to what you need.
There is a search function which can be very useful
The site provides hyperlinks to other sites such as sponsoring sites

There is a lot of information on the site about the team, the leaders, who they
are as well as there history
They do have a privacy policy to protect the privacy of their users.

The site is not so appealing although they use a lot of pictures and some
movies.

The website is unique


The site is available in 3 different languages
The site offers complete information about the products they offer, the price
and the shipping costs.
There is a button available on the site to connect directly with the Facebook

There is a possibility to contact them through the site. The users can ask
questions and give feedback
The history of the company is explained very clear on the site
The different points of sale are clearly on the site

Its easy to navigate on the site


There is no search button but since its a very small site I dont think this is
very necessary
Gives a beautiful history about the beer which also educational

The website is attractive, they use a lot of pictures and a movie about them
It is certainly visually appealing and easy to use

OLX.ph is a classified ads website that caters primarily to Philippine


consumers.
It is an online marketplace where people buy and sell goods, products, and
services.

3.7.2 FUNCTIONALITY

The website can be easy to access and not so hard to understand.


It provides the information that the user needs.
It provides complete information on payment options, procedures, and
policies.

3.7.3 AUTHORITY

And allows users to ask questions and open to hear feedbacks.

It looks simple that appeals the customers/users.

3.8.1 CONTENT

Cebu Air, Inc., operating as Cebu Pacific, is a Philippine low-cost airline based
on the grounds of the biggest airport in the Philippines .
It offers scheduled flights to both domestic and international destinations.

3.8.2 FUNCTIONALITY

You can easily book online using their own website. It is easy to navigate.
The website provides complete and relevant information about the
products/services potential customers may want.

3.9.1 CONTENT

The website gives more or less a complete and relevant overview about the
products/services potential customers may want.

3.9.2 FUNCTIONALITY

They do not provide a help application, if you have questions you should send
them a message by using the contact page
The site does not provide a feedback tool
The site does provide a hyperlink to Instagram which may be relevant to the
target customer.

3.9.3 AUTHORITY

In this case, the company gafas (www.gafas.be) is responsible for the


development and maintenance of the site
There is no assurance given to users on the websites legality

3.9.4 ATTRACTIVENESS

The website is very attractive and fun to use

Everybody can use this site if you subscribe, it is obliged to subscribe


otherwise you cant use this site.
But you can log in with your Facebook account.
You can post things about a specific theme or look up something about a
theme.
For example you want to throw a Halloweenparty then you can look it up and
you get a lot of ideas posted by others.
For example the food,drinks, clothes, music,
Also when you make something special you can share it with others. And you
can follow people on it too.

On the site they say when you sign up you give your information voluntarily.
This can include your name, profile photo, Pins, comments, likes, email
address.
You can link your Facebook or Twitter account to it too.
You can make your profile private so nobody knows you are on pinterest.

You can also send messages to other users.


The site is structured well because you can click on a specific theme that you
like.
You can search easily because its one page only and you dont have to click
on next page.
If you dont understand how it works you can click on the question mark
They give you a tour and help you.

3.12 www.zalando.be (B2C)


3.12.1

On the site you can find every type of clothing you are looking for.
They have thousands of brands and clothes and shoes.
You can search very specifically.
They match your search terms with clothes you might would like too.

PRIVACY

In my opinion I think you have not so much privacy with Zalando because they
use cookies.
You can turn it off if you want but if you dont and you are surfing the net all
the things you like or that are alike follow you in advertising.
And you get weekly e-mails of Zalando too.

FUNCTIONALITY:

Great functionality you just type what you would like to buy and you can order
it easily.
Also you can check points what you would like, like kind of colours or what
kind of style you are looking for.
So you have 2 things that could help you to find what you are looking for.

OPINION

I like Zalando but I would turn off those cookies because I dont like
advertising when I am surfing.
I also use Addblock pro.
I also think that you need some time to find something on Zalando because
they have so many things that your search criteria is too basic.

4 CONCLUSION
4.1 Conclusion
What separates design from art is that design is meant to be... functional.
(Moll, n.d.)
Most of the websites we evaluated had a good design and were quite attractive.
The more attractive the website, the easier to use it is, and also the more handy
the website is. Design certainly is important in the functionality of the website.
However, if a website isnt as attractive as others, it doesnt mean it isnt easy or
functional either. Most websites are great in their content and help towards
consumers.

4.2 Reflection
Evaluating a website on its content, functionality, authority and attractiveness
was a fun assignment to do. Most websites dont really are busy with their
attractiveness or its content, but nevertheless its very important to.
