young people and the immigrants who should be their future, are not

I do not approve of the fair shares for all concept for
calculating final grades because it would only benefit the students who
received lower grades in the class. It would be fair to some, but not all
of the students.
The D students wouldnt have passed the class without the help
of the A students. They were not willing to execute more efforts in their
assignments and the only reason they will be getting a higher grade is
because of all the hard work of the A students.
The students who have been working hard all semester for an A
should be recognized for their hard work. It goes to show that hard
work pays off; the students who earned an A put more effort into the
assignments rather than the students who earned Ds. Because of this
concept, no matter how much work the A students put in, the highest
grade they would ever receive would be a C.
If this was the case, more students wouldnt want to put in the
effort and would leave all the hard work up to the A students because
they know they will pass no matter what. If we use this concept of the
fair shares for all it would be a bit contradicting because it would not
be fair to those who put in the efforts for a higher grade, and would
only be fair to those who have low grades.

One of the Salt Lake Community College outcomes I used during this
ePortfolio assignment would be the Think Critically & Creatively outcome. I
mainly used this on the free response question because I had to think about
why I did not agree with the concept of fair shares for all. I found many
different ideas and evidences about why I dont agree with it. I made
connections with the fairness of the D students and how it was unfair to the
A students.
