About Me:

My name is Cristina Coppola and

I am a junior at East Stroudsburg
University. I am a student athlete
working towards a degree in Early
Childhood Education with a minor
in Psychology. I enjoy playing
softball, snowboarding, and hiking
in my free time! I have always had
a passion for teaching, and truly
enjoy helping students expand
their knowledge in all subjects.

My Favorite Book:
Goals for My Learners:
My main goal for all my learners
is that they will feel confident in all
reading situations. Peer reading
helps build confidence, and allows
students to get comfortable with
their classmates. Reading aloud as
a class also helps students to make
predictions and work through
situations with their peers. One of
my favorite quotes To teach is to
touch a life forever has stuck with
me, because it is a personal goal to
positively affect every single one of
my students.

My Expectations:
To connect with the students and
help them to better their reading
abilities. I also expect that all
students
respect the reading
abilities of their classmates, and

My favorite book is The Fault in

Our Stars by John Green. It is a
tragic love story about two
terminally ill teenagers that pulls at
your heart strings from beginning
to end.

Advice to Young Learners:

My advice to young learners is
to always keep an open mind and
never stop asking questions!!

1. Purpose
The purpose of this newsletter is to give the students and parents of J.M.
Hill Elementary school a general background of myself, my learning goals,
and some of my favorite things. In the newsletter I will give the parents
and students a background of where I go to school, my hobbies, and what
my expectations are.

2. Audience:
The people reading this document will be the students at J.M. Hill
Elementary School and their parents. The ages of the students will mostly
be the same, but the parents ages may vary.

3. Typefaces Used:
Calibri (Body) was used for the body text in 12pt font, and Calibri Light
(Heading) was used for the headings in bold 12pt font. Calibri Light
(Heading) was also used for the WordArt Heading.

4. DTP Principles:
One dominant element- The picture of the softball player holding
the ball and bat on the top right column is the dominant element.
Legibility- The newsletter is easy to read, flows well, and only uses
12pt font other than the WordArt Heading.
Alignment- The headings and paragraphs are all aligned as well as
the paragraphs being Justify aligned.
Grouping- I grouped each paragraph with a heading, using bulleted
lists when necessary.
Balance- The newsletter is informally balanced because there is only
one dominant element.
Unity- All elements of the newsletter are focused on the same main
idea of introducing myself to the students and parents, and there
are two equal columns to create unity.
