Visual Communication using Adobe Photoshop CS6
Certification showing that I am at a professional level when using
Photoshop CS6. It demonstrates that I have proficient knowledge in the
following areas; Project requirements, design elements, understanding
Adobe Photoshop CS6, manipulating images using Photoshop, and
publishing digital images using Photoshop.

Graphics Design and Illustration using Adobe Illustrator

This certification shows I have the following skill sets, setting project
requirements, identifying design elements used when preparing
graphics, understanding Illustrator, create graphics using Illustrator,
export and publish graphics.

Certification to show that I have the knowledge and skills required to
effectively use computer hardware, software, networks, and the
internet. To achieve this certification I had to pass three exams:
Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living Online.

Microsoft Office Word 2010

Demonstrates that I have the skills to share and maintain documents,
format content, proofread documents and preform mail merges. It also
shows that I can apply page layout and content, illustrations, graphics,
references and hyperlinks.

High school leadership and involvement:

Canyons Technical Education Center Ambassador
CTEC is a technical high school that offers students career ready,
hands on training. Along with this we also receive college credit and
industry certifications.
At the beginning of the year I was picked by my instructor to represent
our class as a student Ambassador. This means that it is my job to set
an example for the rest of my class and recruit students. Throughout
the year I have been setting up information booths, giving tours,
speaking to classes, as well as participating in our annual open house.
Microsoft DigiGirlz
Microsoft DigiGirlz is a program to give high school girls the
opportunity to learn about careers in technology and participate in
computer and technology workshops. Once a year DigiGirlz meet at
Microsoft and connect with employees in hands on training.
Each year I help my Work Base Learning coordinator gather girls to
participate in this activity. This includes setting up information booths,
creating pamphlets and talking to students.

SheTech Explorers
SheTech is a program set up by Utah Valley University for girls to be
able to experience hands-on activities in science, technology,
engineering and math.
Just like with DigiGirlz I have worked closely with Hillcrests Work Based
Learning coordinator to help make this event possible for our students.
Once again, this includes setting up booths, handing out pamphlets,
talking to classes, and recruiting students. Each year we are required
to meet a set quota of students in order to be able to obtain
transportation to this event.

MESA club
In the past I have been involved with our Math, Engineering, Science
and Achievement club. I was a MESA member for 4 years until our local
MESA club became inactive. In this club I helped set up activities that
had to do with STEM education. Every year I attended the state wide
MESA display, during this our local group had to invent a fun display to
help get kids interested science and attend to it for 8 hours.
Volunteer Services
Hope Kids Utah Gingerbread House Jamboree
HopeKids is an organization that provides events and activities for
families who have children that are fighting against life-threatening
conditions, to help spread a message that hope is a powerful medicine.
At this event I was required to dress as a fun character and converse
with the families. I helped set up a variety of activities for the kids. My
main jobs were to supervise the gingerbread house station, to help the
children with their decorations, and pose for photo shoots.
