Opening Speech: Venezuela to the Human Rights Commission

Thank you Honorable Chair and distinguished Fellow Delegates; the delegate of
Venezuela is honored to be here and hopes that throughout this coming week we
are able to work together as an international community to discover viable ways
of eradicating gross human rights violations such as sustainable water sanitation,
inhumane punishments, street children, and the situation in the Ivory Coast .
Venezuela has been working fervently to increase its supply of sustainable and
sanitary drinking water, and has met the United Nations Millennium Goals early.
The dedication to these goals and ceaseless hard work of the Venezuelan
government shows its significant leadership role in this movement towards more
sustainable drinking water and sanitation. Venezuela hopes that with the aid of
this conference and resolutions proposed other states will also be able to meet
their millennium goals in a timely fashion. The Delegate of Venezuela looks
forward to working with other fellow delegates and hopes that we are able to
accomplish the tasks that we have set out this week to discuss. Thank you.

Comment [1]: For this speech I had to be
super aware of my audience, I also had to
take on the persona of Venezuela.

Comment [2]: Common place for how
people talk in the United Nations. Nobody
would actually talk like this outside of that
setting.

Comment [3]: I had to understand how to
write and speak in this genre to get my
point across effectively.

Comment [4]: We did a LOT of peer
review to work on and finalize resolutions
to try to solve all the Worlds problems. One
of the most stressful peer reviews I have
ever been a part of.
