Objective:
Bythecompletionofthisshortnewscast/youtubevideo,Studentswillbeableto
illustrateawordcollageinsmallgroupsdepictingtheemotionsofNewYork
Firefighterswithaccuracyofatleast80%.

Set:
Aftertheobjectiveispresentedintheformofasetofdirections,afewminutes
aretakentoalignwhatwehavealreadycometoknowabout9/11withfamous
pasteventsandemotionsinhistory.Wewillattempttolinkthislessonwith
studentspastexperiences.

Information:
Criticalinformationabout9/11isgivenpriortothestudentsassignmentand
practice.Wecollectivelyhaveanopenclassroomdiscussion,allowingfor
studentstogathersomeconcreteknowledgeofthewhen,where,why,andhows
oftheevent.Thediscussionalsoallowsforagoodwarmuptothewordcollage
assignment.

asenseofoutline/guidelinetohaveinmind.Wediscusswhythisisagood
exampleandwhyitiscorrect.
