Chatterpix biographies

Goals/Objectives/Standards: This lesson is the final part of a unit on biographies. The students have
written a paper on the person of their choice and will now present a brief digital biography on their subject.

clearly. W.3.2.a Introduce a topic and group related information together; include illustrations when useful
to aiding comprehension.

Timeline/structure of lesson:

Opening/Framing the Lesson/Introduction/Early Assessment
Explain to the students that today they are going to do the
last stage of the biography unit.

Monitor/Feedback
Model activity for the
students.

To do this, they will need to condense the information from


their biographies into the most important pieces. This
information will be used to create a 30 second presentation
that they create using a picture of the subject and
Chatterpix.
Demonstrate how to use Chatterpix.

The Lesson Structure: Have the students decide what


information they want to include in their presentation.
They also need to choose a picture to use with Chatterpix.
When they have decided which info to use, they should
write out what they want to say as their subject. When
they are ready, have them set up the picture with
Chatterpix and record their statement in the first person,
as though they are their subjects.
Closing/Assessment: When each student is done, the
presentation should be uploaded to his or her Seesaw
portfolio.

spaces to use for the

made appropriate recordings
before uploading them.
