Superior Avenue Farm

Superior Avenue Farm (SAF) trains and supports urban farmers in Cleveland, Ohio,
so that they can grow, sell, and enjoy healthy organic food for themselves and their
community. SAFs goals are to develop high-yield farm plots and backyard gardens
in central Cleveland, which otherwise lacks sources of fresh, affordable fruits and
vegetables.

Programs
Superior Avenue Farm organizes neighborhood children, youth, and adults in central
Cleveland to grow, sell, and eat organic produce. We meet this goal by offering the
following types of programs.

COMMUNITY FARM MARKETS: During the growing season (April to November),

SAF hosts four stands at farmers markets throughout the area. Volunteers
are welcome to join the staff to help prepare, transport, and sell produce at
the stands and as part of our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) project.
NEIGHBORHOOD FARM PLOTS: Staff and volunteers transform abandoned or
wasted urban space into garden plots with water collection systems, compost
programs, tool and seed cooperatives, and farm managers.
URBAN FARMING WORKSHOPS: Weekly workshops are offered on growing food
in a Superior Avenue Farm plot or a backyard garden. Other topics include
preserving and preparing food, selling at markets, and understanding
nutrition. All of the workshops are free.

You can support urban farming and enjoy Superior Avenue Farms fresh, healthy
produce by becoming a member of our CSA project. When you join our CSA, you
agree to purchase a share of fruits and vegetables from Superior Avenue Farm every
week or every other week throughout the growing season. We will prepare a box for
you containing about 10 types of fruits and vegetables at the peak of their flavor
and nutrition. Half boxes are also available. We will deliver your share of produce to
a convenient drop-off location in your neighborhood.

Comments from CSA Members

The super sweet cherry tomatoes were fantasticbetter than chocolate! The
beets were also amazing, and I never thought Id like beets. Thank you so
much for everything.

Our kids say that everything tastes better if its from the farm box. The CSA
is a fantastic value and contains so much variety. It was like opening a
present every week.
