1. Curriculum connection: Are the skills reinforced connected to targeted
skill/concept?
Yes for my classroom I would use this app to test students on prior information
learned that class period.
2. Authenticity: Are skills practiced in an authentic format/problem-based
environment?
Yes, the student is timed while taking these tests so it feels more real life and the
students have to prepare before taking the test.
3. Feedback: Is feedback specific and result in improved student performance?
Yes, if question is answered wrong you are given an explanation of why it is wrong
and what should be the correct answer.
4. Differentiation: Does the app offers flexibility to alter settings to meet student
needs?
Yes there are different levels of difficulty. When you pass one level you advance to
a more difficult level.
5. User friendliness: Can students launch and navigate within the app independently?
Yes they can access this application very easily on their IPad or IPod.
6. Student motivation: Are students motivated to use the app and select it to use
often?
You can actually create a random test where you are asked a variety of random
questions instead of one specific topic of English.
7. Reporting: Is assessment/summary data available electronically to the
student/teacher?
Yes. The students are able to email me their scores when they have completed a
level.
8. Sound: Does the music/sound in the app add to the educational aspects of the
content?
There are only basic sounds such as when you press the next button. It is very
simplistic.
9. Instructions: Are the instructions included within the app helpful to the student?

Yes the instructions are very straight forward and never vary from lesson to lesson.

Yes there is user assistance if the application is not working correctly or if you have
any questions.

Using the data you have collected above, explain why you would or would not
recommend this
application for use in the classroom. Include any specific ideas you have for its use.
I would recommend this application for use in the classroom. I believe this because it is
very simple and user friendly for just about any audience. It can be used in elementary
school all the way up to in high school, thanks to the varying levels of difficulty. This app
challenges students to study and work on memorizing the information so they can pass a
specific level and move on to the next one. This application is also user friendly for
teachers. It is easy to tell when a student understands the information or doesnt due to
the test scores. The application is also cost free and available on a couple different forms
of devices.
