Prompt: Who are your naysayers? Use three templates from TSIS.
I think the naysayers for my thesis paper are the people who do not believe musical training is
something special and the ones who believe that the music department does not need to receive
funding. While doing my annotated bibliographies I came across one article by Mark
Oppenheimer, who believed that musical training skills could be learned in many different other
activities and that the need to continue to emphasize musical training was not necessary when
children are developing. He claims that parents tell their children that they should learn an
instrument to learn skills such as manners or equate. I have not found an article yet about the
effect of schools that did once have music classes and then lost it due to funding.

Non- musicians, of course, may want to question whether music playing is the only way that
people can gain this cognition.
Although not all musicians think alike, some of them will probably dispute my claim that playing
an instrument can boost someones mental capacity.
While it is true that many other activities can help someones cognition, it does necessarily
follow that playing an instrument can help the most and make someones overall well being
improved.
