I define race as being as two people being of different color and/or culture.
I identify my race technically as being one of European (Caucasian). As I have a huge
amount of mixture or European. As I am half German, a quarter Chechslovakian, a
quarter Luxembuourg, a little bit of Irish and then I was born in France. My life
experience is that of where I have had gone to school with a number of different kinds of
races/cultures.
I have had a harder time making friends with the African American students
because they usually were mean to me and did not want to have anything to do with me.
Some ways that they were mean to me are the following: is by avoiding me, and by
talking about me behind my back, etc.
I have also had a hard time making friends with guys for the same reason as the
African Americans. Even some females were not nice to me but it was in Pennsylvania
that I would have the problems of making friends before then I never had much trouble
making friends at all.
The historical information that I have about my race is that two things have
happened from a historical perspective, they are colonization and racialization. (The
historical origins of ethnic (white) privilege in US organizations, Historical colonial and
racial forces shaping the formation of whiteness, pg. 391) If we do not work on both the
colonization and also the racialization then we will have a number of things going on
and will not realize what is going on with us then.

Also one could say that only civilized groups who possessed the human ability to
successfully industrialize should hold factory jobs. It was believed all others should be
excluded from the factories/organizations or relegated to only certain aspects of
industrialization. (Historical colonial and racial forces shaping the formation of
whiteness, pg.391)
If they happen to reclaim and take over the factory jobs then they will have better
communication skills. Their racial forces will be somewhat better because they have
taken over the factory jobs in hopes of making it better for everyone else involved.
The societal representations that I see regarding my race are the following:
Men are more likely to open the door for the women, men usually make more money, and
also men and women are able to have a big house and a yard somewhere. My race is
represented of a white privilege, they will have the power and influence over other
groups.
An example of how my race is represented is by the following: To the extent
organizations were constructed from the early days of industrialization for the interests
and privileging of one racial group what is actually positioned as normal is racialized.
(The historical origins of ethnic (white) privilege in US organizations, pg. 397) If we had
not been built in the early days for the people that had interest and also money then we
too as a white society would have been racialized.
A second example is the following The material benefits white workers accrued
in the early days industrialization provided white ethnic immigrant groups the ability to
claim a preferred, superior position in the emerging organizational hierarchies. (The
historical origins of ethnic (white) privilege in US organizations, pg.398) If we as the

white workers have built up the ability to not only claim a preferred, superior position in
the organizational hierarchies, (The historical origins of ethnic (white) privilege in US
organizations , pg.398) then they will have the power to have a great job.
A third example is The reality is that ethnic (white) privilege and other systems
of domination persist and reside alongside the discourse of valuing diversity as indicated
by studies of minority employees perceptions of diversity practices (e.g. Chrobot-Mason,
2003) (The historical origins of ethnic (white) privilege in US organizations, pg. 399) If
we continue to persist the face of diversity practices then we will eventually be in the
minority of ones practices..
