ACTION PLAN

To contribute to the goal of preparing reflective practitioners, student teachers will write an Action Plan at the end of first, second, and third field
experience with input from their cooperating teacher and/or the University supervisor. The Action Plan synthesizes each field experiences
evaluation, links each field experience to the next, establishes goals for improvement, and forms an agenda for discussion between the student
teacher, the cooperating teacher and University supervisor at the beginning of the subsequent field experience. For First Field Experience only
(excluding Physical Education students), the Action Plan will be completed during the co-requisite Professional Seminar course.

I have shown thorough to advanced development in the following Professional Competencies developed
during this field experience:
Throughout my FE2, I have developed competencies 1,2,4 and 6. I have demonstrated professional
conduct by: showing up on time, dressing appropriately, engaging with students and teacher in a
professional manner, emerging myself into the school culture, getting involved with school activities,
helping students with assignments, keeping a detailed journal and making relevant observations,
making connections between the literature and my observations and finding ways to integrate both
in my personal teaching style. I have used all my knowledge from FE1 and applied it in FE2. I
developed my lessons planning skills and improved on my guiding questions. I collaborated with my
Cooperative Teacher in order to understand how to help the students in the 3 weeks I had with
them.
I would like to improve my skills in the following Professional Competencies developed during this field
experience:
Although I have demonstrated much growth in regards to m y lessons, I am aware that I must still
improve on my guiding questions to allow for a smoother learning experience. I learned that what is
simple for me can be complex for the students so my goal is to improve my guiding questions in
order to help my students all get the same answers. I also need more exposure with Competencies
9 and 10. I would like to interact with parents and develop a stronger relationship with the teaching
staff. I will also continue to pursue my improvement with my grammar and spelling.

I will make use of the following strategies for improvement:

I will take the time this summer to go over my journal from FE1 and FE2 and reflect on my growth
as a teacher.
I will continue to pursue my improvement with my grammar and spelling by completing some high
school grammar workbooks.
I will develop more guiding questions and intergrade them into my teaching.
I will also apply more diversified learning in my lessons to promote optimum learning.
