Weekly Coach Project Summaries

Week 6: September 28-October 4

This week, I began researching whether a Weebly Website will be the best option for creating a training hub for YouthBuild
Charter School teachers, coaches and administrators. One of my greatest challenges is to create a site where teachers
from the Charter school network can take advantage of the resources and training that I will provide. Another option will
be to create a Google + community which I have to conduct a bit of research on it this week. With a Google + community
I will be able to further develop the Google Apps skills and take advanatage that everyone has access to a Google +
account, althoug it is rarely or never used.

Week 7: October 5-11

Thie week, I decided to cotinue with the idea of creating Google + community instead of a Weebly website as mentioned in my
Coach Project proposal. The reason I chose to go with a Google + community is the it's "one less website" where educators
need to go for resources. Instead, because eveyone has a Google account through the Charter school, everyone in the network
has access to Google +. Educators will receive email notifications when I update any new information on the community board
along with a "red dot" notifcation on the upper right hand corner of their web browser when they log in to their Google account.
This is great way to update anyone in the community with the latest resources. The name of the group will be, "YCSC Google
Drive Training/Support."

Week 8: October 12-18

This week, I started sharing the Google + community to the YouthBuild Charter School email. I ensured that I shared the group with my
assistant principal along with the STEM coordinator. They were able to share the Google + community in a mass email. In the email I
share the prupose and described how this was a direct response from the summer PD and to fulfill a need. In the first couple of days,
I only had 5 members sign up. I figured that there might be a learning curve present especially if the educators have not used Google +.
This resulted in me sending another email on how to sign in and briefly discussing how to use Google +. I'm hoping that the next week
I'll get more educators to sign up.

Week 9: October 19-25

This week, I got a bit discouraged because my Google + community only had 15 members. There was one educator that expressed
in a training on how to use Google + and it will be something that I would like to bring training on during our Winter PD in January.
As of now, I am collecting resources and working on my Google Educator Training where I am getting training on how to use Goolge
Apps and gathering reources for the Google + community. I will continue to update the Google + community and ask those memebers to
share the community with their peers. I'm hoping for this community to one day be open to not just the Charter network, but any educator
who would like support on using Google Apps in the classroom.

Week 10: October 26-November 1

This week, I decided to downsacle my coach project a bit. I wanted to provide Google Apps training for my school site in East LA. We are a
total of 8 educators at the site that serves 80 students. We recently received Chromebooks and many techers are not familiar with the
devices. I would be working on a training to demystify the devices and provide resources on best practices. I will send out an email this
week and ask for feedback on any Google Apps that educators are insterested in learning how to use. I will also ask them to be ready to learn
with the new Chromebooks.

Week 11: November 2-8

This week, I conducted my Google Drive training. I showed my group of educators how to use the Google + community. Only one educator in
the room had experience in using Google +. This leads me to believe that the educators in the network would also benefit from "face to face"
training on how to use Google + in the winter. Once educators receive the training I will continue to update the Google + community and ask
for feedback on the types of resources they would like to see in the community. The in house training was beneficial in helping developing
a Tech Implementation plan for the site. This was beneficial in helping educators use Google classroom, properly use the Chromebooks and
create a vision on how we will use technology at LA CAUSA YouthBuild.

Week 12: November 9-15

This week, I began to gather more resources on how to use Google +. I will be providing a face to face Professional Development in January
on how to properly use the Google Community I created. I was able to ask for support from the STEM coordinator at the site to help me
gather additional resources from training she particiapted in. Another task that I worked on this week was the developement on an Online
Google Classroom PD to assist some educators that have not taken advantage of Google classroom. The videos are short, but to the point
with tips and best practices that I learned from my experience in using Google classroom this trimester.

Week 13: November 16-22

This week, I wrapped up my project. I started to complie, screenshot and upload documents used to my digital portfolio. As I completed
this task I began to ask myself, "how effective was I and what can I do better." This is a learning process that I enjoy and will continue to
strive to improve in delivering support in means that work best for educators. I had several teachers emailing me questions and asking for
support through email. I also have some educators asking for a face to face PD to reflect and to provide support on Google Classroom.
Whether I was effective, I would like to ask educators in our next PD to share how they are using Google Apps in the classroom. I would
like to collect an archive of pictures, sample work and testimony on how Google Apps was able to improve their practice.
