Anticipatory Set Students will view a powerpoint presentation about value scales and
participate in a discussion about highlight, shadow and midtone.
Procedures
Students will identify the highlight, shadow and midtone on the powertpoint
Instructor will demonstrate how to make a two inch by two inch grid on paper
Students will count the letters in their first and last name to determine how large
their grid should be
o Add 1
o First name across the top
o Last name down the left hand side

Instructor will demonstrate how to fill the grid with intersecting letters
Students will use pencil to fill the grid with the letters of their name
