Successes and Failures Reflection

By thinking about I have been a college student; it still makes me to feel excited. Since
the college started, it already past two months, and I find out I have some successes and there are
also some failures that I need to improve.

In my childhood, I was always interested in science. So decided my major as architecture

and took chemistry this year. In chemistry class, my partners and I have done an experience
called Titanium Oxide Nanoparticles. When I got this topic I didnt know anything about it. It
sounded so strange to me. In this experience, I was in charge of doing the introduction. On the
internet, I found much interesting information about this topic which is a high technology apply
to peoples daily life. I felt it is challenge and accomplishment when I finish the introduction.
Also we got full credits for this experiment and everyone in my group was excited. Finally, I
realize I can touch the high technology and it makes me felt I became an actual college student.

Before I came to college, I already took calculus class in high school. And this semester I
took precalculus which I placed at. I thought this was not going to be hard class to me. In class I
didnt pay attention to the professor and took fewer notes. I still thought I got this, but I was
wrong. After the first test, the grade came up, and it was C. This made me so dispirited and
disappointed, because I never expected I would receive this grade. Finally I realized I have been

arrogant. Then I started to reflect. The problem was not I couldnt understand what the professor
taught in the class, it was I forgot the knowledge when I learned in high school. Therefore I
should be serious in this class just like the knowledge learned the class first time.

Though the two months in college, I knew colleges classes were harder than I thought at
first, and getting a good grade was not as easy as in high school. So I need to pay more attention
in the class. Since now, I need to look for the tutors in Teaching and Learning Center and plenty
information in library because they are good resources to help me. Also, I would like to make
new friends because college is society before we actually fin a job, so we need to bond the fix
friendship and to help each other indeed.

As been a freshman, college is still a long way that I need to walk. And I believe there are
many successes and failures are going to happen in my life. For being more successful, I think I
need to find out the reasons why I have those successes and keep them. Also, finding the
disadvantages then transfer them to good.
