The era following the Han Dynasty is known as the Three Kingdoms.

Northern Zhou general Yang Jian reunified China after the centuries of division.

The emperor rebuilt the eastern capital of Luoyang and established a relation with Taiwan and Japan. He also
expanded the military into Gansu province and the eastern Turkestan to establish colonies along the overland
trade routes and that was followed by the failed campaigns against Korea and against the Turks.

I would characterize the Tang Dynasty as powerful because it had a lot of land that they call their own and
since they did they had more people and land to rule.

The religion that flourished was Buddhism because monks and teachers passed
through Changan and the brought new ideas and religious texts with them and

Yes I do consider China under the Tang Dynasty to be the golden age because the way the dynasty was set up
was stable and it had a great government and belief systems and also had great cultures.

The Song Dynasty is any better than the Tang Dynasty because I believe that both were equally stable and
organized.
