Description
(The subject or focus of the project)

Im making a basketball floor with a basketball poll and hoop. I am

inspired to make this project because I love the sport. I will be
making the basketball floor using a piece of wood. Using sharpie, I
will draw half of the basketball court. I will then have a 10ft wire
coming out of the end of the court, at the baseline, to indicate the
basket poll which would create visual movement of the court. Then
at the top of the 7 wire, a basketball rim would be made also out
of wire. Then around the half court line in the wooden court, a wire
will be connected to the wood and will go towards the basketball
hoop which would make it implied movement. This line represents
the basketball traveling through air heading toward the hoop. At
the end of the wire will be the basketball. The basketball will be
placed on the rim to indicate a make.
We will be a sculpture of a dress. We were inspired to do this
because it sounded fun and a challenge. We first formed the dress
base around Caylas waist and then connected the wires to the
bottom base. To make the hoop for the dress we used double lines
which were evenly spaced to create a regular pattern. After that we
started to form the dress upward till it was on her shoulders. After
we did that we tucked fabric into the bottom half of the dress for
the design. After that we connected fabric into the upper half of the
dress. Then we used Bengal as a runway and acted like the dress
was in a fashion show to celebrate the finishing of our dress. After
we took the dress off, we put it back on a 5 7 manikin. Then we
bought about 21/2 yards of red fabric so the dress can always have
its form. We put the fabric on but then we decided to make it more
like a dress and put a 21/2 white yarn strip and had it going around
like a belt on the dress. Then we used 3 gems and glued them to
the white cloth. We also used more wire to make a necklace for the

dress. At the front of the necklace, we put another gem.

Sculpture

Weaving, toothpicks,
paint and glue

I will be weaving an 11/2 S. First I will cut a square out of a 9 by

9 piece of foam bored. After that I will paint the bored yellow
because yellow is like the sun and I love summer. Then I will be
poking toothpicks through the bored in an S shape. Then with the
yarn colors, purple and white, I will weave the toothpicks S with the
pattern, six purple lines, 6 white lines and six purple lines again the
pattern of this will create movement through the project. Then on
the upper part of the S I will use toothpicks to shape a number two.
On the bottom of the S I will shape out a number four. Then I will
weave the numbers with teal yarn. I was inspired to do this
because my name starts with an S and because my basketball
number is 24.
