Philosophy Statement

First off, why do I want to work with children? Children are usually brutally
honest, creative, funny, and optimistic. I also want to help my students become more well
rounded adults. That will be how I make little bit of change in the world.
Second, what work am I prepared to do? I am prepared to teach. I have been
following my plan to become an elementary school teacher for years now and I cannot
wait to have my own classroom.
Third, How do I teach and/or work with children? I will teach by being a good
role model as well as using many different teaching strategies to reach all of my students.
Lastly, how will I measure my effectiveness? I will mostly use a lot of informal
assessment such as listening and watching. However, I will also use formal assessments
and note taking periodically for accountability.
