The last days of being in a class is nothing without reflection.

In
my final portfolio I decided to revise my reflection from Mini-Portfolio 1 and my DigitalSelf Assessment from Mini-Portfolio 2. My decision came from the fact that I could
allow my audience to have a better understanding on the long journey I went through to
analyze myself and my own work. The four pieces of feedback I chose for the final
website comes from the two reflection letters by Ms. Morton about the previous
portfolios, feedback from my social media log, and the peer-review feedback for my
Digital Self-Assessment. I chose these because they all related to my previous portfolios
so there presence in my final portfolio would make sense because it would relate to my
new revised papers. My choice for the four artifacts consist of journal entries, free writes,
or drafts that have to do with social media, simply because that is the topic that relates to
me and one of my revisions the most. The plan I have for the revision of my Digital Self
Assessment was to follow Ms. Mortons reflection letter and clean up the grammatical
errors and sentence structure problems in the first draft. I will do that by visiting the
writing center and asking the associates what I need to work on. By doing that, I
complete two of the necessary requirements of the final portfolio in one try.
The format of my final portfolio is the same as my previous portfolios. I used
Weebly to create the website with the various tabs containing each requirement of this
assignment. I used random colors just to make it seem more appealing unlike my
previous portfolios, which seem plain. In the final portfolio, I have created a new tab
called Mini-Portolios, which contains the links to both mini portfolio 1 and 2. Through
this final portfolio, Ms. Morton will be able to clearly see what I have changed in the two
revised drafts because both are present in the website. I will not make any changes to the

old portfolios other than the two required drafts because I want to show the true change in
the manner of how I approached the final portfolio. In contrast to the old portfolios, the
artifacts and feedbacks posted in my final portfolio will relate to social media and my
portfolios as a whole, aside from random selection of what random work I can find in my
folder for the class.
My feelings about this class in the beginning of the year were very negative
because I thought it was going to be boring and a lot of unnecessary busy work just like a
lot of English classes I have encountered in high school. Now, I have come to learn that
this class is one of my favorites because the teacher has a unique teaching style that
forces students to work with other students when it comes to forming an argument about
a topic or formulating an analysis for a reading. Then after our groups finish discussing
the topic at hand; we all discuss as a class our own personal opinions about the topic
while Ms. Morton asks different questions to guide our thoughts to a different point of
view. This barrage of questions is done to test our own opinions on the subject and see if
we change our minds. That is one of my favorite parts of this class because the
discussions allow us to understand the subject a lot more because we have to critically
think about what we said previously and use a small fact from our last idea to answer the
new question the teacher comes to ask us. What I learned about this class relates to my
new knowledge of SLOs. This relation comes from the fact that every skill we use in this
class can be used for any class assignment, and just anything in general because
connections can be made.
The experience with the team project has really opened my eyes. I was really
surprised when I was working with my teammates because it was nothing like a team

project in high school. In high school each person would have a specific job and would
solely do their own part with no further sight of anyone elses part in the project. But
now, my team and I put all of our own thoughts into the project and everyone had a part
in every requirement. One answer to a question came from 5 different minds so there is
no excuse for an undetailed answer. It is through this group project that I have really
understood the meaning of teamwork and the difference between giving jobs and coming
together to do one job. My contribution to the team is giving suggestions on some of the
answers to the team reflection because I analyze everyones answers to the topic in every
class discussion. I classified myself as the follower because I never disagreed with
anyones answers nor did I question any opinions. Simply, I would just agree with them
by bringing up facts from the assignment we were supposed analyze or complete then
some how relate it to my opinion on the subject. Overall, this teamwork has taught me
how to steer my opinion to match those of my teammates so we can create a new form of
understanding of various topics, and how to work with others on all assignments.
I plan to use the information used in this class in the future in various ways. The
SLOs we learned such as critical reading, knowledge of conventions, rhetorical
knowledge, and critical reflection will all be used in life later because those SLOs all
consist of knowing your targeted audience, knowing how to approach them,
understanding what you said and what was said in response, then reflecting on how you
can improve on your explanation. This cycle will be used in future projects,
presentations, jobs, and other places where critical explanation is necessary. Also from
this class, I have learned how to work with a team thoroughly due to the various team
activities that would take place in class. This knowledge of working with a team will

definitely benefit me to work well in my future job because most jobs consist of more
than one person helping.
In conclusion, my final portfolio will reflect how much I have put into this class
and what I have learned as a whole. My final portfolio includes my artifacts, feedback,
and revised drafts as pieces that come together to show how much Ive grown from the
first day of class, to the last day. Through careful analysis of my reflection letters from
Ms. Morton on my previous portfolios, my knowledge of how to revise my papers came
to me easily and was able to carryout the necessary tasks to make a final draft. My final
portfolio will serve as a timeline of my work and how much I learned because it will
include pieces of feedback from this class that will correlate to the corrections I made to
my drafts and the types of artifacts I have embedded into my portfolio. The journey
through this final could not have even started without the knowledge I acquired with
working with my team on the team project. By working with other people, I was able to
acquire even more knowledge that I already had and look at subjects through a different
point of view. This final portfolio will show all that I have learned in this class and how it
will help me in the future.
