Demonstration.
1. Fold paper in half. Write your name on the back.
2. Choose a colour that you think represents hot
and a colour that you think represents cold. Is
everyone going to have the same colour
choice?
min
3. For your HOT choice, you will paint HALF of your
page with the colour your chose in horizontal
lines. What is horizontal? You will use tinting
to create depth and texture in your painting like
the rose.
Are students using tinting in their art? Do
students know how to paint horizontal lines?
Brain break.
For you COLD choice, you will paint the OTHER half of
10
your page with the colour you chose in Vertical lines.
min
What is vertical? You will use tinting to create depth.
Are students using tinting? Do they know how to paint
vertical lines?
Brain break
Black silhouettes. You will build at least 2 objects from
2-D shapes we discussed in math. Demo:
Draw the shapes. Cut them out and glue them together
to make the object you are thinking of. (Do a house).
1. Your shapes that go in your hot section must
represent something that is hot to you.
2. Your shapes that go in your cold section must
represent something that is cold to you.
3. Glue your shapes on to your page.
Did students use shapes to build their objects? Were
they able to identify the shapes used? If you finish
early, you can add more shapes to your painting.
