I worked with Amy Garrett at the American School of Bombay for 2 years. She was always enthusiastic and competent in finding the best ways to embed technology into her programme. As a teacher Amy is supportive and thoughtful. She takes a genuine interest in the students who love her approach to art.

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Amy Garrett. I worked with Amy at the American School of Bombay for 2 years between 2012 and 2014. Amy worked as the Upper Elementary Art Teacher, and I was the Elementary Tech Coordinator. During this time Amy and I were able to work closely on integrating technology and art. Amy was always enthusiastic and competent in finding the best ways to embed technology into her programme. To start with, Amy applied for and received a set of 10 Galaxy Tabs that students were able to use to document and reflect on progress they were making in Art. Later Amy also participated in a mobile prototype using iPads so that students could animate their artwork using apps such as Morfo and Aurasma. She was always ready to experiment with new ways of using technology so that students to best demonstrate both their emerging art skills and the thinking behind their products. As a teacher Amy is supportive and thoughtful. She takes a genuine interest in the students who love her approach to art. Amy works collaboratively with the elementary homeroom teachers to make genuine connections between art and the PYP units of inquiry. At ASB she took a lead in holding meetings with other singlesubject teachers so that they could also explore the links between their subjects and the transdisciplinary themes and concepts being addressed in the homeroom classes. I always found Amy well-prepared and ready to collaborate, and as such she was well liked by the staff and regarded as a valuable member of the faculty. While at ASB, Amy took advantages of the many professional development opportunities that were available. In particular she did the 5 digital storytelling Online Academy workshops that were led by Bernajean Porter. These courses, each 6-8 weeks, focused on using the craft of creating multimedia that was rigorous and that produced a return on learning. Amy explored a whole spectrum of tools that would allow her to coach students as they created impactful digital products. Amy is now ready to make another professional move. I would definitely recommend her for any position - either art or technology - which she feels ready to apply for. She and her husband Dax would be a great addition to any school.
