The Word Picture
The advertising image I chose has a lot of meaning behind it. It is a big issue that needs to
be solved. So many people are fighting to make a change, but so far nothing has changed. The
image is of a tiger on its hind legs being controlled by strings like a puppet. The background of
the image is blue and the tiger is the main focus of the image. The picture is taken far enough to
see the strings, but close enough to see the tigers facial expression. Theres a spot light on him
as if he were putting on show. This advertisement is basically trying to get people to realize how
bad it is to have wild animals in containment. They should be running wild not trained to jump
through hoops and entertain human beings. Its trying to get the audience to sympathize with the
tiger. Perhaps by making them feel bad for animals that go through abuse for the thrill of others.
The phrase THE SHOW MUSTNT GO ON is written across the image. I think this phrase
really emphasizes how bad activist want to make a change. Not only that, but it can also get
some of the audience to become apart of their organization. It is obvious that wild animals arent
meant to be controlled. This photo is just emphasizing that it is wrong and the animals do not
enjoy being controlled. Humans shouldnt be able to take advantage of animals. Even though
animals dont have a voice they still deserve to be treated with respect.
