PSORIASIS ARTICLE
A. GOAL OF PERSONAL PROJECT
The goal of my Personal Project is to provide a space of positivity to people who
have psoriasis skin disease, hopefully when they read my article they will feel
supported and noticed that also they are not alone. The goal of my article as well is to
educate and raise awareness to others especially starting from teens and how they can
avoid catching this disease, because the way we build are lifestyle starts when we grow
up. I wish to start slowly from this article that people and especially teens would be
much aware of the impact their lifestyle takes a role to their mental and physical
health.
B. GLOBAL CONTEXT OF THE PROJECT
I choose Identities and Relationship as the global context of my project
because it focuses on health and personal lifestyle. Specifically because the topic I will
be writing about is a disease called Psoriasis. This disease relates on how your
lifestyle is, whether you have a healthy lifestyle or not. My article will talk about
mainly personal identities that its important to take good care of your body and not be
stressed and too hard on yourself. This will link to Psoriasis as the characteristic of
your lifestyle judges whether it opens a door for this disease or not.
C. SPECIFICATION OF PROJECT
C.1 Product of the project and detail description
Im conducting a research on a skin disease called Psoriasis, in which I would
do deeper analyzing on how the disease affects people and the threat it plays. After

then, I would make an article with a goal; promoting, raising awareness on this issue
and publish it on a magazine so people can read it.
Ive personally known about this disease but not directly catching it personally,
but since my dad has psoriasis. Growing up, Ive asked my mom plenty of times why
my dad has pink scabs all over his skin, to add up on that, Ive had plenty of friends
and family asking about it as well. So over these years my mom and I begin slowly
educating ourselves on this disease, mainly so we could start answering people better.
However, my main point is that so many people Ive met (whos also met my dad) would
ask me similar questions to What is that? or How does that happen? and I thought
to myself, what better way to start answering peoples questions on psoriasis than to
make a complete article about it. What is it? How does it happen? How can we avoid
it? Where can we catch it? All these typical questions Im sure people who have
psoriasis are familiar to especially when they are seen wearing a short sleeve shirt,
where their psoriasis are visible.
This article will not also create an impact by providing information to people
who dont have this disease, but for those who have psoriasis, can feel noticed and that
their experience with this disease can be told. We can use their experience to educate
and raise awareness to other people who do not have psoriasis. My research method
will be collecting data so it will be qualitative and the report as well.
My article will be published on a magazine, or newspaper whether its online
or not. I dont really know much about this, thats is why I will rely and ask guidance
from my expert.

Expert 1 (For research on psoriasis):
In terms of providing information about psoriasis for my article, I need to know more
about the topic. I need an expert I can discuss and ask questions so that I have details
to serve data in my article. An expert is needed, as I need to keep my data updated
and accurate. My expert is doctor Dr. dr. Tjut Nurul Alam Jacoeb, Sp.KK(K) from a

clinic I often visit called SamMarie, she has been helping treat my dad of his psoriasis
for years. As for her being my expert, I will need to visit her so we can talk.
Expert 2 (For writing article and publishing):
After making an article, I will need someone to help guide me where I can feature my
article, so that people can actually read it. This expert can give me inputs on the
manners and language I used for my article, to help edit and advice. As well as a
source to where I can publish or send my article.
My second expert is Tenik Hartono, the editor in chief of Grazia Magazine. She came
and led a session for Career Day earlier this September, and Ive approached her by
email, however the acceptance of my request is still pending.
