provided.
KinestheticHave a hands on activity to let students be able to feel and play with
objects.
Summary and Lesson Closure describe how you plan to end the
lesson and prepare students for further learning. (example: discuss what
comes next in the unit or the next step in learning). This step is
important because it allows you to sum up the lesson and preview the
next lesson.
Teachers J will go over class handouts and explain that this is material
needed to know before coming to class tomorrow. Teacher J will
describe the next unit we will be working on is telling time looking at
minutes and seconds not just hours and half hours. The information
learned in class today will be a vital component to help the students
continue learning how to tell time.
Formative Assessment
-Plastic Egg Activity
After the lesson on how to tell time looking at hours and half hours, the
students will be able to engage in an activity to test their knowledge on
what they just learned.
1. Teacher J will split the class up into two groups. One half will receive
12 eggs and the other class will receive 12 eggs. As this is
happening, Teacher S will be explaining to the children the directions
to this activity.
2. One side of the egg will be the time (example: 6:00 pm) and the
other half will show the actual clock with the minute hand and the
hour hand. The top and bottom of the eggs will be scrambled up on
the desk. The task is for students to help each other match the top
half of the egg to the bottom half of the egg.
3. After the students are done, teachers will walk around to assist
students. Teachers will give feedback on the activity and make
corrections where needed.
4. There will then be a discussion lead by Teacher S if the activity was
easy or hard.
Extension of learning1. For homework, students will visit the website practiced in class and
review the handouts from class. Teacher S will explain to students at
the end of the class that tomorrow we will be having a short review
as well as working on determining how they use time in their
everyday life.
