Middle School Mandarin Language Teacher (St. Clair Shores, MI)
Sep 2013- Present
Designed, modified and executed middle school curriculum using Teaching Proficiency through Reading and
Storytelling (TPRS) method.
Boosted student achievement by showing growth of 71% comparing pre-test and final exam.
Demonstrated teaching to ability and potential of the students with adding two extra unit to the curriculum,
students still achieved 89.5/100 class average for final exam.
94% passing rate to enter high school level 2 mandarin course.
Student Teaching Intern (Bloomfield Hills, MI)
March 2013- May 2013
Morning at Lahser High School and afternoon at East Hills Middle School (Both are International Baccalaureate
school: Diploma Programme for Lahser and Middle Years Programme for East Hills).
Work alongside with mentor teacher to deliver daily Chinese language lessons from 6th to 12th grade.
Incorporate the IB programs Common Core into the curriculum and develop effective lesson plans with mentor
teacher. The goal is to help all students master the language and culture while succeed at the program exit exam.
Chinese Language Tutor (East Lansing, MI)
September 2011- Present
Teach Integrated Chinese course to a local high school student (from level 1 part 2 to level 2 part 2).
Customize the teaching plan based on the students objectives to pass the new HSK level 6 Chinese Language test
and to study at a Chinese university. The student is proved to be proficient in listening, reading, speaking, and
strong at writing.
Work with the student to find the best teaching approach and homework assignments to emphasize and reinforce
what was learned in the teaching session.
