Measure vital signs every four hours, input information into the electronic charting system, work closely with nurses
Answer call bells quickly, assist patients in in bathing, eating, walking, and using the bathroom as required by their level of
independence and need, change linens of hospital beds each day, maintain a clean environment for patients
Tend to basic needs such as feeding through a nasogastric tube and gastric tube, flushing these tubes, removing IVs, and
suctioning in mouth and around tracheostomy tubes
Provide inpatients with a comfortable, positive experience after surgery and manage time between as many as ten patients in
an eight- or twelve-hour shift, occasionally float to pediatric floor as needed
Hyperbaric Oxygen Unit
Measure vital signs of outpatients before helping them into the hyperbaric oxygen chambers, and input this information into
the hospital's electronic charting system
Operate hyperbaric chambers under supervision of the clinical resource nurse and observe patients throughout treatment
Prepare for emergencies such as carbon monoxide poisoning and decompression sickness
Calm patients in stressful situations such as claustrophobia while they are inside the hyperbaric chamber
Keep unit, hyperbaric chambers, and beds clean and tidy for each patient
