Occlusion Rims

An occlusion rim is defined as the Occluding surfaces built on a temporary or


permanent denture bases for the purpose of making maxillomandibular
relation records and arranging teeth.
Dimensions:
The occlusion rim should follow the arch form of the residual alveolar
ridge and should be placed on the ridge where the natural teeth were
originally present.
The position of the occlusion rim on the edentulous ridge is as follows:
