Essential Question: What are the roles and challenges that social workers face?
Working Thesis: Social Workers face many problems and challenges with their job.
Refined Thesis: Social worker is a stressful job with many challenges, however it is a needed
career worldwide.

This article deals with the issues and heartache social workers face. In this document
social workers save children from their abusers. Many kids worldwide are being abused by their
family members and its a social workers job to stop it. Many kids are too scared to fess up and
save themselves however social workers are there to protect the kids and their rights. Even if it
separates a family, it is for the better and the child is safer in the end. This article supports my
claim on how social workers are very necessary and face several difficult decisions.

Darnells article describes case management roles and the affordable care act. The case
management roles describe more job descriptions and the range of different jobs and
opportunities social workers have to choose from. Social work does not only pertain to schools
but can also serve as a public government job that protects the rights of children. This article is in
first person point of view and explains the step by step process to become a social worker and all
the struggles that pertain to that career. The article states how social workers are needed more
now today than ever before however due to the high stress job not many are willing to join the
field. This article supports my thesis because this explains the hardships faced and the difficulty
of the job.

Social work in school is different than social work in general yet these workers still face several
hard decisions and challenges in their career. Social workers are at schools to protect the rights of
children and act as a security blanket to shelter and care for the kids in the school. The article
supports my thesis because it states the job duties and difficult tasks that social workers in
schools face on a daily basis when in this certain field of social work.

fields and is needed worldwide. After the earthquake, china was faced with devastation and
needed help to pick up the ruins. Social workers stepped up and helped out. They are not only
there to protect peoples rights but are there to help cause a difference and make peoples lives
better. This article helps support my thesis that social work is a needed career and helps influence
peoples lives for the better.

superb education. This document will help add variety compared to the other sources due to the
fact it relates to more serious problems and also faces difficulties outside of the United States.
This is important because it shows this career is worldwide and desperately needed. This article
will support my claim that social workers have a lot on their plate and are a necessary career.
