PROCEDURE
Introduction
Attention Grabber Christmas Book. Get students interested in the holiday coming
up.
Transition to Body
Students would have arrived from gym. Work sheet and
supplies will be ready to go at the back of the room. Once
students arrive they will sit on the floor and the teacher will

read the Christmas Book called Olivia.

What holiday is coming up soon?
Have you ever decorated anything before?
What happens to your house during Christmas?
What do you put on your tree?

Discussion
What do you do at Christmas time?
Do any of you help decorate the tree?
Present kids with the ornament. Have any of you ever
made your own?

Each Student will receive his/ her own sheet


that contains ornament outlines. The rest of the
materials will be handed out once students are
finished colouring their ornaments.
Discuss the word design and talk about the
different
designs on the ornaments
Explain to students that they will make their
own designs( Patterns) on the other ornaments .
Talk to students about using different colors.
Show students the an exemplar to give them
some ideas
Explain that they will be gluing them on a
paper.
They must create different patterns and designs
with their paper strips as well. ** note- Students
will not have the strips of paper of sheets of
paper yet. Explain to students that once they
are done colour their ornaments they can ask a
teacher if they are ready to cut. If they are
ready they can be given the rest of the
materials and begin activity #2.

** Students then use pencil crayons to create their


ornaments
Assessment:
Students are creating different designs on their ornaments.
Differentiation:
Teacher gives some students sheets with more designs.
Activity #2
Once students have cut out their ornaments.
They can start cutting their paper strips.
When giving students the rest of the material
have a discussion about the strips.
Also make sure to remind them how to orient
them on the page.

Ornaments are also hanging in the correct direction. ( All one
