Dear Parents and Students:
Welcome to St. Anthony High School. I am looking forward to working with you this
year. Communication between parents, students, and teachers is essential for a good
learning experience to take place. Please contact me with any questions or concerns
you have during the year. You may leave a message or email and I will contact you as
soon as possible.
Course description: The Advanced Placement Spanish Language course offers
the equivalent of a third-year college course in advanced Spanish writing and
conversation. It encompasses aural/oral skills, reading comprehension,
grammar, and composition. Such a course, emphasizing the use of Spanish for
active communication, has the following objectives:
1. the ability to comprehend formal and informal spoken Spanish
2. the acquisition of vocabulary and an accurate reading of newspaper and
magazine articles, as well as of modern literature in Spanish
3. the ability to write essays in Spanish and
4. the ability to express ideas orally with accuracy and fluency.
Prerequisite: Spanish 3,4 or Spanish 2 Heritage

We will cover material using the following e-book:

Student Learning Outcomes:
1. Formulate ideas orally at a medium intermediate level.
2. Formulate ideas in writing at a medium intermediate level.
3. Demonstrate reading comprehension at a medium intermediate level.
4. Demonstrate aural comprehension at a medium intermediate level.
Homework:
Late assignments will not be accepted unless the student has an excused absence. If
a student is absent it is his/her responsibility to inform himself or herself about the
missed assignments and will be expected to turn them in within a couple of days

otherwise he/she will not be able to turn in a late assignment.


Assignment rubric:
10 points = assignment is complete and correct, followed directions, on due date
7points = incomplete (more than done) or complete with some problems
3 points = incomplete (less than done) or did not follow directions
0 points = did not turn in an assignment
Grades Distribution:Students will be graded with the followingpercentages.
