Goals/objectives:
Increase my familiarity with and ability to integrate technology meaningfully into
classroom instruction in order to engage students and appeal to diverse learning
modalities.
Timeline:
November 16, 2015 December 16, 2015
Colleagues/mentors:
TA, PS I colleagues at practicum school
Action plan:
Visit educational websites and research technology resources
o pay special attention to those with interactive online activities;
Observe classroom and school implemented technology programs and ask questions
about their use and success
Practice with researched and observed technologies to proficiently operate their
programs/applications, etc. and work toward mastery
o watch/engage with tutorials for technology software, programs and applications
Create lessons (across subject areas) that, to varying degrees (through experimentation
and feedback) integrate technology.
*Keep in mind: PURPOSE of technology use in lessons*
Indicators and measures of achievement:
Section in logbook created to catalogue technology integration lessons and personal
reflection on the successes and challenges of the lesson.
o Also: ask for student feedback, reflect on teacher associates and university
consultants observations of technology integration
Track frequency, usage, variation in technology-related activities in order to build
repertoire of engaging, implementable lesson-types

Increase my understanding of physical literacy and benefits of physical activity in order
to:
o promote and model healthy lifestyle choices for students;
o create fun and meaningful PE activities;
o integrate movement activities into classroom instruction.
Timeline:

TA, PS I colleagues at practicum school particularly grade 1/2 PE team-teaching
Action plan:
Consult physical activity resources (print, online, colleagues)
Gain knowledge of students current and developing interests and activities
Experiment with PE lessons with team-teacher
Implement brain-breaks and movement/action activities in classroom instruction
Maintain personal exercise as well as model and participate desired skills and behaviours
for students
Indicators and measures of achievement:
Section in logbook cataloguing physical activity lessons and classroom engagement
strategies
o Reflect on levels of student engagement (on-task frequency, understanding of
lesson/activity, etc.)
o Student satisfaction ask about likes/dislikes; fun/challenges following activities
Variation in activities:
o touch on different aspects of students developing physical and cognitive abilities
and areas for practice scaffold learning and skills
different levels of exertion, rule structures/complexities, etc.

Read various texts for personal enjoyment with the aims of:
o attending to personal wellness in order to be calm and responsive in the
classroom/with students;
o be able to model and promote/advocate reading for pleasure to students in the
hopes of creating life-long learners and

Action plan:
Create list of texts to read for enjoyment
Acquire texts through book store purchases or library loans
Set aside reading time to relax and refocus at the end of the day/week
Indicators and measures of achievement:
Check read books off of list
Mark days that I have read (and perhaps amount of time) on calendar/in day-planner
