Boyles, Salynn. Sodas and Your Health: Risks Debated.
http://www.webmd.com/diet/sodas- and-your-health-risks-debated. Web. 9 Mar. 2011.
29 September 2015
Webmd provides reliable health information that typically comes from doctors and other health
professionals. In this article, Boyles refers to studies of the negative effects of soda by several
health professionals. I liked how Boyles gathered information from these various studies and it
also used a lot of the They say, I say, in the writing.
Mundell, E.J. Nearly 1 in 5 Americans Has at Least 1 Soda a Day.
http://www.webmd.com/diet/20140814/nearly-1-in-5-americans-drinksat-least-1-soda-a-day-cdc?page=1. Web. 14 Aug. 2014. 29 September 2015
This article also comes from the, typically reliable, Webmd website. The piece of this writing by
Mundell that caught my eye was the statements about the negative effects of sugar in the body.
There were several statements from a clinical dietician from Plainview Hospital in Plainview
New York that brought up some facts about sugar that I thought were useful in my essay.
Orciari, Megan. Beverage companies still target kids with marketing for unhealthy, sugary
drinks http://news.yale.edu/2014/11/19/beverage-companies-still-target-kids-marketingunhealthy-sugary-drinks. Web. 19 Nov. 2014. 06 October 2015
This article provided helpful information on how the soda industry is targeting children and teens
in their marketing. It even gave a dollar amount when speaking about how much they spent in a

year, just to sell soda. On the other hand, this article also provided a great argument as it
discussed the decline in soda sells over the past few years and why that was so.
Olson, Samantha. Soft Dink Dangers: 8 Ways Soda Negatively Affects Your Health.
http://www.medicaldaily.com/pulse/soft-drink-dangers-8-ways-soda-negatively-affectsyour-health-319054. Web. 22 Jan. 2015. 29 September 2015
The reason I chose to use information from this article was because it had most information from
other health websites, just more condensed. There was an interesting quote about how sugar
affects the body. I am not sure how reliable the source is for actual medical facts, but it helped
with the argument.
The Coca Cola Company. Our Commitment to Well-Being
http://www.coca-colacompany.com/well-being/our-commitment-to-well-being. Web. 23
July 2015. 09 October 2015
I really liked this source because it provided a good They say aspect to my essay. While
researching this topic, I was interested in what Coca-Cola had to say about the soda issue in this
country. It was nice to see that they are taking a stance against obesity and overall bad health.
Also, this information about the Coca-Cola Company came from its own website so it was
legitimate.
Williams, Sarah. Harmful Effects of Soda Acidity
http://www.livestrong.com/article/521667-harmful-effects-of-soda-acidity/. Web. 15
July, 2015. 07 October 2015
This article provided great information about the negative effects that soda has on your teeth. I
do not know much about Sarah Williams, but I have frequently obtained health information off
of the Livestrong website. It has been a very reliable source to me when I have researched a
health topic.
