What are the alternatives to modern medicine?
There are many theories on health and how certain things benefit us from nutrition and
diet, vitamins and supplements, and modern medicine, as well as exercise. Some agree that
modern medicine is the answer to all while others just completely go against it. Does modern
medicine have a place and if so to what extent.

Some people believe in only modern medicine which isnt necessarily a bad thing and is
one of the most often things done by us as a people. We trust our doctors who have years of
experience and wouldnt you rather take an educated guess than just trusting some random
person with no experience of the subject. We also come to trust our doctors because that is what
is recommended to us by family and those around us and if you break leg you obviously would
want to get it fixed by a doctor instead of some all natural thing to try to fix it. There have been
plenty of times that doctors have saved lives and they deserve our respect and trust.

Others around the world completely reject the idea of modern medicine and they have
their reasons. Some may have had a side effect that made them worse off than before while
others just dont think that modern medicine is the answer for them as a whole and they believe
in just taking good nutrition, getting the rest needed, exercise, and breathing to maintain their
health. These things can actually be good and give us benefit as most of us know. Throughout my
research a have had the opportunity to have an interview with Dr. Carol Stowel and John

Kingston who both manage a health and wellness clinic here in Salt Lake. There foundation of
what they are doing is about trying to use alternatives to modern medicine and use modern
medicine as a last resort. They teach their patients that their bodies are designed to do amazing
things if we give them the tools necessary to do so. Our bodies can create and environment of
optimal health if we dont add things like refined sugar, white flour, or modified foods that
interrupt the natural state that our cells should be in. when we interfere the natural reoccurring
healing cycle that our bodies go through several times throughout the day, we leave opportunity
for inflammation, and bacteria to grow.

One of the ideas I found amazing is that disease cannot survive in highly
oxygenated environment. Exercise is one of the things that create oxygen in our cells. At the
wellness clinic they have exercise with oxygen therapy Exercise while you breathe higher
concentrations of oxygen. They mentioned that on average we are breathing approx. 21% O2
during exercise, breathing higher oxygen levels provides an immediate increase in strength,
endurance, and energy. This allows us to burn more calories in the same 15, 20 or 30 minute
workout. . In addition to this surge of power during exercise, EWOT increases blood plasma
oxygen levels. Increasing your oxygen levels can offer amazing metabolism & immune function
improvement. The healthful benefits of EWOT include higher oxygen levels to all parts of the
body. When I watched some of the YouTube videos regarding the EWOT, I found people who
made claims that they noticed anti aging benefits from using this therapy. Dr. Carol Stowell and
John Kingston mentioned that this is because aging involves losing the ability to carry oxygen to
all tissues of the body. EWOT provides benefits through increasing oxygen carrying capacity.

They offer many other alternative treatments, such as high dose vitamin C, and ozone therapy,
many detox therapies including, removal of heavy toxic metals within the body.

They also have a machine for stroke patients that forces blood to the damaged extremities
of the brain and body. This machine is called EECP. During the treatment, you lie on a
comfortable treatment table with large blood pressure-like cuffs wrapped around your legs and
buttocks. These cuffs inflate and deflate at specific times between your heartbeats. A continuous
electro cardiogram (ECG) is used to set the timing so the cuffs inflate while the heart is at rest,
when it normally gets its supply of blood and oxygen. The cuffs deflate at the end of that rest
period, just before the next heart beat. The special sensor applied to your finger checks the
oxygen level in your blood and monitors the pressure waves created by the cuff inflations and
deflations. All these risk free and natural ways of improving your health are extremely helpful to
maintain or build perfect health.

Some believe that modern medicine has its place because while going all natural and
getting your oxygen it wont help for a major accident or major illnesses which modern medicine
can fix it through surgery. If you break your leg then you cant just put some herbs and oils on to
make it better, you need to go to the doctors and get it fixed. Some think modern medicine as a
quick fix to the big problems and still maintain their health by taking the all natural way as well
and to be fare millions of new drugs are being sent out yearly and while doctors should be trust
worthy we cant expect for every single doctor to give their patients what they need so while
these new drugs are being sent, some have been made by scammers and ex-cons to get money.
To go to the doctor as less as possible not only saves money but reduces the chance of running

into a drug that will do more harm than good. Some of the useless supplements provided by the
doctors are antioxidants. European researchers have done a few tests and found that those who
took a regular amount had no effect and those who took more than the regular amount showed
signs of it being worse than if they hadnt taken them at all. The European researchers went as
far as saying antioxidant pills are worse than useless.

Although it is true that some vitamins are bad, it is also true that some are good and
actually fulfill their purposes but even they have their limits so for those who take their vitamins
and try to stay healthy just remember to much of anything is bad for you so it is always good to
make sure you are taking the right amount. Even companies get fooled by these mistakes by
adding to much vitamins and minerals in there drinks which end up doing more bad then good
unless you can even out the scale, for example if you taking more vitamins that suggested than
the only way to get the benefits is to do more physical work to burn it down otherwise you are
putting too much on your body and that is what ends up doing the harm.

Alternative medicine is essential in total wellness because while we can go to the doctors
for a broken leg we need to know how to keep our body fit to the fullest and so one of the many
ways to use the all natural way to cure you is to use mineral water for your burns and I have
actually had first hand experience on what it can do because my younger brother spilled some
drain cleaner on his arm and it burned through his skin pretty deep and all we did to cure it was
keep it soaked in mineral water for a few months and it is already almost gone just a faint mark is
left. Mineral water has some regenerative properties that can help cure burns from fire, acid, and
electric burns as well. Although depending on the condition you must decide if it is too bad of a

burn to see if you do just need to go to the doctors but you might be surprised on how much it
might help you. Another one of the many all natural ways to build your bones and maintain your
teeth is ground up egg shell because the egg shell is built upon a similar structure as our bones
and can do wonders for your health but again it wont fix a broken leg and isnt immediate so
keep in mind that taking egg shell wont just magically fix a broken leg but if you get your leg
fixed by the doctors and use egg shell as a part of your recovering process it will help it heal
much faster. Taking herbs and oils might help but one thing that we must learn is to do our own
research and find out what will work best for us and our conditions instead of just listening to
what people tell us.

My personal opinion is to go to the doctors if necessary but try to use safe and all natural
things for your health and always look for another option before going into surgery. I would
strongly recommend taking oxygen therapy because of its effectiveness and I myself have had
the opportunity to try it out and one thing that I noticed as I was running on a treadmill with the
oxygen mask on I didnt get tired and I was full of energy throughout the whole thing but after I
was done I felt an immediate response like I just ran a marathon which I thought was neat
because I didnt feel the pain during the workout but I felt the results of it afterwards. Just
remember that you are the one that decides what to do with your body and you are the one to find
out what works best for you because we are all unique and different from each other making hard
to know what the best thing would be for people.
