Floods: 625 evacuated in Selangor

SHAH ALAM: Flood victims in Selangor increased to 625 from 161 families this morning,
compared with 443 from 108 families yesterday evening.
The victims include 23 babies, 38 senior citizens and two disabled people.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Mohd Sani Harul said a new
relief centre has been opened at Genting Sanyen Community Hall, in Sepang which now houses
35 victims from 12 families.
As of today, nine relief centres have been opened in Selangor, four in Sepang, two in Kuala
Selangor and three in Klang.
"The relief centre at Dewan Sekolah Menengah Meru recorded the highest number of flood
victims with 242 victims from 59 families, an increase of 70 victims compared to yesterday.
"Other relief centres are Kampung Salak Community Centre (30 victims), Taman Gemilang in
Dengkil (104 victims), Surau RTB Labu Lanjut (77), Surau Ladang Tuan Mee (40 victims), and
Surau At-Taufikiah, Puncak Alam (22 victims) in the Kuala Selangor district, Klang Municipal
Council Hall, Kampung Kuantan (17 victims) and Sekolah Kebangsaan Abdul Samad, Kapar
(58) in the Klang district," he said today.
