School Dinners Warm-Up

Stick the School Dinners Flashcards on the board and number them 1 to 10. Call out the words
one by one and try to elicit comprehension by asking students to say the matching numbers. Start
with words which you think that some of the students may have heard before.

T: Fruit salad. Whats the number?

S: Five.
T: Good. Now, fish and chips. Whats the number?

You can make the activity competitive by dividing the class into teams or by playing boys
against girls.
