Your written response and results: Mary has always been into the sciences and chemistry
classes in school. She would be bored to death in all of her other classes such as english
and math, but right when she got to chemistry class her eyes would light up and she would

be eager to perform any experiment that was assigned. There was nothing that made her
happier than learning new formulas and equations and then getting to actually perform the
experiment to see what exciting reactions became of it. It was the thrill of the unknown that
really sparked something inside of her. Mary's best friend, Allison, was quite the opposite
from Mary. She dreaded going into chemistry class and always avoided actually being apart
of performing the experiments whenever she could. She loathed the unexpected. The whole
concept of surprise made Allison uneasy and she would avoid it at all costs. But she took the
class to be with her best friend and would put up with it to support Mary's passion. One
rainy Monday morning, when Mary and Allison walked into chemistry class together, just like
any other ordinary day, they made a strange discovery. Their teacher was nowhere to be
found. This was strange because their teacher, Mrs. Burk, had never been late to class or
missed a day without notice, ever. She was known for this. Mary and Allison took their seats
and waited for a little while, and as time passed, they began to worry. Mrs. Burk was an
older lady, and they were afraid something may have happened her. All of a sudden, Allisons
face turned pale, as if she had a sudden intuition about what might have happened, "Look
behind her desk", she said to Mary. Mary stared at her for a second, then slowly walked
over to to look behind the old wooden desk. Suddenly, she let out a scream. The whole class
went silent. "Is Mrs. Burk back there? is she hurt? Oh no, i knew it. Someone call the
ambulance!" Allison cried. "What?" Mary chuckled after collecting herself, "No, theres
nothing there, I was messing with you, you are such a worrier Allison" Everyone laughed,
including Allison.

Your written response and results: Your self-description: I am Lucy. I am observant, I see
so much, so many things that most people overlook. I analyze, I understand. I can read
people's emotions by listening to not only their words, but by feeling the emotion that their
words contain, and the movements and ways that they speak. Some people may think I'm
shy, but I'm really not. I can be a little at first, often times I just don't know what to say
first and I am not one to be very open with people I am not close with. But once I get to
know you, I have no problem talking to you and at times I won't be able to shut up. I may
not always initiate the conversation but I love to connect with people. My mind is always
running deep in thought. I think about the meaning and connections everyone and
everything has to this universe. I feel as though I know myself more than anyone else could
ever know me. My thoughts are so complex and I analyze everything. Sometimes this can
be a good thing, but sometimes I catch myself overthinking things that really are not worth
my energy to focus on. To people who don't know me, I may seem stuck up, but really I am
just in my own thoughts. I do not judge people, but rather I understand them. People are

actually so easy to read. We basically bleed emotions even in the way we drink our coffee.
No one really seems to to notice though. They're all too busy drinking their own coffee. I do
not need anyone to make me feel like I am someone. I could be on my own and feel
completely whole. I like spending some time alone. I like taking time to be at peace with
only my thoughts. I have so much to give to others. I am a good friend, I don't like seeing
people fight and I do everything I can to never let someone down. My one main desire is to
travel. I want to see as much of the word as I can. I want to meet all sorts of people and I
want to make them feel important; leave an impact on them. I want to learn of different
cultures and ways of life. I want to expand my mind and views. I never want to stop. I just
have a hard time figuring out how to actually put my passions into action. I'm not great at
starting things, but I'm good at finishing them once I get into them, especially if it is
something I enjoy. Happiness is my priority; for me and all of those around me. I just hope
to become better at putting it into action and coming out of my shell of thoughts into the
real world and make the me I am in my head come out for others to see.
