Data Collection and Analysis

Instrument Review
The research design I will be heading towards is Existing Data Analysis, in which I
evaluate a minimum of four peer review and focus how their research studies can be
incorporated to my research question. This option is perfect for my purpose because others
involve experimenting people over time, and floor planning design does not enact experimenting
others throughout time. That focus of research involves more of researchers who need to study
the change of behavior throughout time, such as emotions or decision making. Focusing on
existing data allows me to study and examine real statistics, dimensions, and sketch which have
already been created. Studying on floor planning allows me to inherit information from planned
sketches and focus on how those sketches can be reinnovated. Also floor planning can be
separated to different groups of study such as interior and exterior designing and focusing on
both sides can make my research much more accurate and more applicable for those who
focusing in both interior and exterior floor planning.

I chose this data collection option because it allows me to understand from other people's
studies from different categories but in the same field. Architecture can be separated from
landscape, interior design,industrial, and commercial and having the opportunity to review other
peers research will help me out on my research by expanding other types of architecture and

contribute to my research. Existing Data Analysis is the best fit for me because there are many
professionals and researchers who are interning at architecture in which i can review their work
and the similarities and differences between my work.

Some challenges I will face is applying different categories of architecture into one and
getting peers to participate. Applying different categories to one can be difficult because there are
many opinions and thoughts into each individual field. Arguments can come into play in which
why certain criterias are more important than other topics. A great example is floor planning,
people who do exterior and interior design can agree my point of view of its importance, but
those who do landscape can disagree in which photographs are more crucial. Both have great
standing points but receiving information that is opposite can distract and hurt your idea and
research. Also not many students and professionals don't have the time to discuss or meet face to
face about a architecture in which they are busy in their daily life or job.
